The Veterans Assistance Program is for Texas residents who currently serve in the Armed Forces in any position or who are veterans and have an honorable discharge regardless of length of service. The Warrior Down Fund is for Texas residents who currently serve in the Armed Forces or who are veterans with honorable service who have served in any war, insurrection, or foreign expedition whose service is recognized with the award of a United States campaign medal, or who have served in Korea for 30 consecutive days or 60 non-consecutive days, or who have earned pay for hostile fire or imminent danger. Veterans can enter H-PACT clinics walk-in and receive medical and mental health care, case management, housing placement support, substance abuse treatment, community referrals, and classification services.
